Ann Mazur

Obituary of Ann Mazur

Ann Carol Mazur, 62, of Manchester, died Sunday December 27th at St. Francis Hospital.  Born in Manchester, she was the daughter of the late William Joseph Mazur and Katherine Emma (Machura) Mazur.  She was employed for over 20 years at Stop & Shop, enjoyed her bowling league for many years, was an active member of the MARC Inc. Community and she was also very involved with the Manchester Church of Christ.

Ann is survived by her sisters Beth McDonald and her husband Bruce of Fairfield, and Katherine Murphy and Thomas Mertzlufft of Westerville, OH, and cousins Doug (Krista), Brian, Eileen (Paul) McEwan and Michael (Lidia), and Kari (Robert) Murphy Kastler. Along with both parents he was predeceased by her brother William Mazur, Jr.

Having Down’s Syndrome never stopped Ann from living a meaningful and purposeful life.  Ann had an uncanny way of winning over hearts, putting smiles on peoples’ faces and sowing seeds of love around her.  She will be dearly missed. Our family is deeply grateful for the many dedicated MARC staff members who cared so well for her over the years.  Most especially we are indebted to Kathryn Sherrell who embraced Ann as a loving surrogate sister.

One of Ann’s favorite songs was, "In the Arms of the Angels”.  We trust that Ann was carried in the arms of the angels to her eternal glory for living one simple, beautiful, ordinary life.

Donations in Ann’s memory may be made to MARC, Inc., 151 Sheldon Rd., Manchester, CT 06042
