Obituary of Kathleen Rose Socha

Kathleen Rose (Nault) Socha, 63, beloved wife of the late Daniel A. Socha died surrounded by her loving family at home on Sunday, December 27, 2020.

Born January 2, 1957 in Willimantic to the late Bernard and Pauline (Barry) Nault, Kathy attended schools in Windham and went on to graduate with  two degree’s, in Social Work and Psychology from Eastern Connecticut State University. During that time she also worked at Windham Hospital in the billing department where she met her life long best friends Jo-Ann Pocius and Elenor Dutcher. They supported her tirelessly during her last several months and days, never failing to bring a smile to her face. She then moved to Bolton where she raised her children. There she enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors. She loved being near the ocean and made many trips with Danny even after he fell ill.

Later in life Kathy found her passion in her role as an Educational Advocate for the State of Connecticut. She worked to support and encourage children in various school systems across the state, to ensure they were provided with the services and opportunities they deserved.

In 2015 and 2016 Kathy welcomed her grandchildren who she loved more than anything in the world. She made many precious memories with her family and was happy no matter what they were doing together.

She is survived by her children: daughter Caroline M. Socha & son-in-law Sean Trantalis of Manchester, son Kelsey Connor Socha of Bolton; her grandchildren Jacob and Parker Trantalis; and her siblings John Nault and his wife Carol of IL, Ellen Mott and her husband Robert of Chaplin, CT, and Tom Nault and his wife Karen of Providence, RI.  She is also survived by her dear friends Jo-Ann Pocius and Elenor Dutcher and several nieces and nephews.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday January 2nd at the Church of the Assumption 29 Adams St. South, Manchester followed by burial in Bolton Center Cemetery.
