Obituary of Gary Cogan

Gary Eugene Cogan, 68, of East Hartford, formerly of Manchester departed this life on Wednesday, December 20, 2020. He was the son of the late Edward and Louise Cogan. Gary was also predeceased by his beloved wife, Marsha, his sons Jason and Clifford and his brother Robert Cogan. He leaves his siter Janice of Glastonbury, brother and sister-in-law Edward and Francine Cogan of Melbourne Beach, FL, sisters-in-laws Midge Menzies of Maryland and Eileen Cogan of South Windsor. He also leaves nieces Michelle Farrin and Chantal Clark of ME, Kim Flowers of CT and nephews Perry Fuller of PA and Tim Perry of CT, a special friend Carole Stadnicki of East Hartford and a multitude of extended family and friends.

Gary was employed by the United States Postal Service as a carrier for over thirty years. He was an animal and sports lover. He was an excellent baseball player and was a graduate of East Hartford High School and Eastern Connecticut State College where he excelled in baseball at both schools. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic funeral arrangements will be private with the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, Manchester in charge of arrangements. Donations may be to the Connecticut Humane Society, in Gary’s name.
