We want to express our sincere condolences to Mary and family. John lived a life of supporting and loving his fellow human beings. We remember very well his desire and commitment to work toward a more inclusive Manchester. Before Manchester hired its first police officer of color, before the Manchester Interracial Council was organized and before the first Martin Luther King Jr day was held in Manchester, John was working toward better racial understanding and diversity in Manchester. We are honored to have known him. Praying for strength and comfort for the Foley family.

Dear Aunt Mary and Family,
I want to express to you all my most heartfelt sympathy. The world has lost someone very special and your sorrow is shared by everyone who knew and loved him. Uncle John may be gone from us now, but we all have memories of him that cannot be taken away…his stories, his laugh, his smile, the good times we had, the sad times we shared, but most of all his loving and caring nature. May he rest in peace.
My thought and prayers are with you and your family.
With Sincere Sorrow,
John Mitchell

Dear family and friends of John Foley,
John was a quiet community hero who labored tirelessly for the needs of the hungry, poor, mistreated or ignored. He was at every seat provided to bring a voice for and peace to racial relations and issues. I was blessed to know John and his beloved a wife, Mary. Anything John did, he brought his big heart with him. He sought to understand and was always ready to speak up and to act as needed. His deep faith prompted him to show up, get involved and stay the course. He will be greatly missed but his spirit is what will go on because it was so generously poured into everything he believed in. Thank you John, my mentor and friend.
With shared sorrow,
Beth Stafford

In lieu of flowers, Ryan and Alecia have made a donation to the MACC Food Pantry in Gpa's honor. Gpa was such a warm, welcoming man. He will be missed greatly and his memory will be honored through reminiscing special times shared with his grandkids and great grandchildren.

John your tears of joy while celebrating with us in Buyangu, Kenya-Africa is a memory that will be carried with me for the rest of my life. Another highlight, was how you organized the mission appeal and the visit to your home. Thank you for your big heart. Keep smiling wherever you are, we count on your ministry and more blessings for us before we join you. Octavio Ramirez former Colombian missioner in Kenya at the Irish club.
