Mary-Alice and Family,
We are so sorry for your loss of Jim. He was truly a great man and it was an honor to know him. We treasure the memories of seeing you both in Montauk. It was clear your love of friends and family as you both walked the campgrounds, visiting all with huge smiles, laughs and hugs.

Jimmy Piro was always a breath of fresh air, so this feels right. Trees create oxygen, provide shelter and are inexpressively beautiful, like Jimmy. Join in honoring their life - plant a memorial tree

Heather DiLorenzo posted a condolence

I first met Jimmy as Phil DiLorenzo's fiancee, now wife. He hosted a big family picnic at his wonderfully welcoming country home, with his roommate, the famous Patty Pig. I come from a very small British family and was uncertain of myself with my many future relatives. But then Jimmy spotted me. He approached me with an enthusiastic greeting on his lips and his arms wide open. He scooped me into one of the most amazing embraces of my life! Damn, that man could hug! He complimented, welcomed and loved me in the first 3 minutes of meeting and I realized in that moment that being a DiLorenzo was going to be fantastic! I gave my heart to Jimmy that day and he'll be in it for the rest of my life. Such an honor to know this extraordinary man, even without the significant considerations of his long list of loving accomplishments. His marriage was his greatest, as were his children. He was a good man, in the classic sense, honorable, dignified, protective, hard working... too many to list. The world will shine a little less without Jimmy Piro.
