I did not fish with Uncle Gordon, but on one of my last trips to CT Gordon gave me a few bottles of wine that he made. I carried them back to TX with me. He was a very kind and generous man. He and your Mom were blessed to have a large loving family!
We are sorry for your loss. Our hearts go out to each and every one of you. Hold close to the great memories that you shared together! Shirl welcomed him with open arms and now they are at peace.
All our love, Linda (Larson) Russell, Rick and Gary
p.s. we made a donation in Gordon's name to the American School for the Deaf. We were happy to learn of his connection and contribution to the school.

Gordon taught me to fish many areas of New England. We fished Cape Cod and Rhode Island for large saltwater fish. It was mentioned he volunteered for years at the American school for the Deaf. He encouraged me to volunteer and I was extremely touched to see the warm relations he had established with the students. Every year we took a group of two dozen or so students from the school for the deaf fishing. Several students figured out "if you want to catch fish, fish with Gordon".
He was kind, generous and patient with everyone. In many ways he was a role model for me of how to get along with life and people. His family appreciated and honored him. I am happy to have been his friend.

Dad you were one of a kind, no one could ask for a better father. Thanks to you and mom growing up in a two bedroom house we bonded with each other to build a bond that we still have today that will last a lifetime. Not too many family’s are as close of as we are and are always there to each other. You taught us right and wrong and to treat others as you want to be treated. You touch so many people with your twinkle in your eye and sense of humor. There’s a part of you and mom that will be continue in you 6 children, grandchildren and great children forever and ever. RIP ❤️❤️❤️❤️
