Obituary of Roslynn Jane Dionne

Roslynn Jane (Gushue) Dionne, 81, longtime resident of Vernon, Connecticut passed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 from a brief and sudden illness surrounded by her loving family.

Roslynn was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada on February 19, 1939 daughter of the late Alexander and Kathleen Gushue.  She was deeply proud of her Irish-Canadian heritage and often shared stories of her family history.  Roslynn was happily married and inseparable to her husband, Richard Allen Dionne, until his passing on June 25, 2010.  Roslynn and Richard enjoyed 40 years of love, marriage and family together.  The Dionnes enjoyed long drives to the beach, admiring foliage in autumn, cooking meals together and date nights at the movie theatre.  Roslynn’s greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  It was not uncommon for Roslynn to welcome you into her home with a meal and conversation at the kitchen table.  She will be missed for her quick wit and sense of humor, but most of all her loving nature. 

She is survived by her three children, Jennifer Beach and her fiancé Alan Ference of Vernon, Michael Dionne of Vernon, Julie Hopper and husband Jason Hopper of Ellington; four grandchildren Jessica Beach and partner Andrew Hepner, Christopher Barnard and wife Ashley Barnard, Alexander Barnard and fiancé Katelyn Doucette, and Jake Hopper; three great-grandchildren Aiden, Kristopher and Madelyn.

The family would like to send thanks and gratitude to all of the caregivers at Manchester Memorial Hospital who took part in providing treatment and comfort to Roslynn.  Your efforts and guidance were commendable.
