Kevin Hodge

Obituary of Kevin Hodge

Kevin Hodge, 55, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep from natural causes on Thursday, August 13, 2020. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Howard Hodge and Mary Hodge. He is survived by his aunts, uncles, cousins, and his many Automotive and Racing enthusiast friends.

Born on October 1, 1964 in Hartford, CT. Kevin grew up in Manchester, CT, graduated from Howell Cheney High School's Electrical Program in 1982 and worked as a Meter Mechanic at Northeast Utilities and Eversource since 1999. He grew up around NASCAR race tracks all over the east coast and beyond, during what many would call the Golden Age of racing, and that shaped his entire life. His parents were track photographers, so Kevin learned his crafts and passions at an early age.

As he grew up, he worked in many capacities at the tracks as a photographer, and then working in race shops, for racing teams, as pit crew, then head mechanic, crew chief, and as a skilled race car driver. Kevin was a talented race car driver, be it on dirt, asphalt, drag strip, Circle track, or Road course. He enjoyed racing his beloved Dodge Challengers, most recently, on the legendary track at Lime Rock Park, where he excelled.

He lived a full life pursuing and combining his passions of Mopars, Automotive Racing of all types and Photography. He was smart, hard-working, kind, genuine, loyal, dependable and witty. Talented, artistic and wise. He did things "His way, the right way".

He was a long time club member of Mopars In Motion car club, and was the club's Photographer and Graphic Designer. He could be found at countless car shows, cruise nights and race tracks volunteering his time and pursuing his passion- photographing the events. Everyone look forward to seeing the pictures taken with his artistic eye and signature style. Nature photography, automobiles, people pics, or action shots- he had an amazing way of capturing special moments in pictures.

He was loved by everyone that met him. His passing leaves a huge void that will be felt by so many in the Racing, Automotive and Mopar Enthusiast Communities. He was incredibly charitable of his time, talents and support of many worthy causes. His favorite charity that he championed was the Victory Junction Gang Camp, founded by the Petty Family, whom he held in high regard.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Green Cemetery, 99 Hubbard Street, Glastonbury, CT.

A Celebration Of Life, hosted by Mopars In Motion Car Club, will take place Immediately following the burial, at the VFW, 152 Massirio Dr, Berlin, CT.
