Obituary of Lois Jane Tonski

Lois-Jane (Cratty) Tonski, 86, of Rockville, the beloved wife of the late George J. Tonski, passed away on Tuesday July 14, 2020 at Hartford Hospital.  Born in Rockville, she was the daughter of the late Francis Bernard Cratty and Gladys Louise (Nichols) Cratty.  She was predeceased by a sister Eileen Cratty Ruggiero and her beloved dog Mackie. Lois worked at Amerbelle Corporation for 40 plus years as an Order Entry Supervisor. Lois enjoyed her Irish heritage and many trips to Ireland. Lois was a collector of antiques and she was an amazing porcelain doll maker. She was a incredible historian of her beloved home town of Rockville CT and enjoyed sharing many stories. Lois had many groups of friends and was so proud to work on her Rockville High School Class of 1952 reunion committee. Lois was a member and past president of the Tolland VFW Auxiliary, a member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter Noah Grant, member and past president/secretary Friends of the Rockville Public Library, board member of the Vernon Historical Society, member Vernon Cemetery Commission, member of Union Congregational Church, the Red Hat Society, and the Lois Club. 

She is survived by her children; Sherry-Lynn Amaral and her husband John Bogner of Wilmington, NC, Sheila-Lee Williams and her husband Peter T. Williams of Stafford Springs, Sylvia-Louise Onthank and her husband Robert Onthank of South Windsor CT; her grandchildren Todd Belanger and his wife Michelle of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, Colin Williams and his wife Jesse of Somers, CT, Emily Tarry and her husband Andrew of Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, Adam Russell and his wife Allicia Munarriz of New York City, Leah-Jane Russell of Guilford, CT, Brendan Onthank of Suffield, CT. Bridget Onthank of East Hartford CT, her great-grandchildren Rylan Rogers, Adeline and Ian Belanger,Molly Tarry; her stepchildren Joseph M. Tonski, Sr. and his wife Lisa Tonski of Rockville, CT and Marysia A. Adams and her husband Robert of Manchester; her step-grandchildren Joseph M. Tonski, Jr., George A. Tonski, Christopher Adams, Jeffrey Adams, Robert Adams, and her step-great-granddaughter Kinga Tonski.  She is also survived by her sister-in-law Wilma O’Connell of Florida and her children.  

Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 20th, at 1:30 p.m. at the John F.
