I am deeply sadden to learn that my teacher and mentor growing up has passed. My condolences to Margaret Cramer's children and Grandchildren. Ms. Cramer was loved by many, including my family and I. I met Ms. Cramer in Bulkeley high school, she was my home economic teacher and I looked forward to her class everyday, her witty jokes and her wonderful smile not to mention her charisma. My senior year of high school I was unable to take her sewing class as her classes were already full. After much talking, Ms. Cramer started the after school sewing club and gave her time to teach me and others how to sew.
With her guidance I construction my prom dress in 2006. What a coincidence it was when my mom decided to move to East Hartford my senior year. I was so tired on a Monday and told Ms. Cramer I had moved to east Hartford. She asked me where about, I told her "Delmont Rd". She chucked and with a smirk and said "did you move into a blue house?" She was my neighbor a few houses down. I would go visit her and she would tell her stories, show me all the projects she was working on. A lot of them were for her grandchildren. She especially talked about Rihanna and how much she also enjoyed making things. She always helped me with any questions I had during my collage career. With construction and just about life situations. She gave the best advice.
Ms. Cramer was not only my teacher but she was my friend. Years passed I moved to MA and back to CT and I would always make my way to Delmont Rd to visit Margaret. She was always full of joy, one of her greatest accomplishments in my eyes was going back to school and taking on other mediums such as painting. Something she really loved and wanted to get better at. She was so inspiring! There was no challenge she wouldn't take on. She was a teacher but also a student. There was always room to learn and grow. Ms. Cramer was such a beautiful wonderful soul. She was not only a teacher but a designer and artist.
She will be loved and missed by my family and I.
