Obituary of Bryce K. Carpenter

Bryce K. Carpenter of Manchester, husband of Florence Moriarty Carpenter died on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Crestfield Rehabilitation Center, Manchester.  He was born on March 23, 1926 in Marlborough, MA, the son of Frank and Catherine (Stent) Carpenter.  He was a member of the Class of 1943 Manchester High School.  He was a veteran serving in the Army Air Corps as a radio operator on Flying Fortresses. 

He was employed by the W.G. Glenney Co. for 38 years first as a truck driver and then worked in the office for 36 years until they closed in 1984.  He then worked for Eric Santini Construction until retiring in 1991. 

Bryce was a member of the American Legion since 1945 and a member of Masonic Lodge #73 since 1948.  He was a member of Hose Co. 2 South Manchester and was Assistant Treasurer of the Army & Navy Club at one time.  He was currently a member of the British American Club.

His wife of 65 years died in April 2014.  His first son, Bryce Jr. died in April 2013.  He is survived by two sons. Dean and Craig and Craig’s wife Rikki, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by three sisters, Virginia Bissell and Natalie Moseley of Manchester and Sandra Dotson of Pikeville, KY, and one brother William of East Hartford. He was also predeceased by brother Don of Manchester.
