To a wonderful family of Ernie (our Neighbor for 20 years)
Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure . You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
All we know is those special memories of you , will always bring a smile. If only we could have you back for just a little while - We will talk and laugh. You always meant so very much to us. The fact that you are no longer here will always cause us pain. But you are forever in our hearts.
Until we meet again
Family Baeza.

I have many memories of my Dad. Here is one that sticks out in my mind.
While attending the University of Hartford I visited the Math lab to get some additional help. While there I noticed that the Senior Math students who ran the lab working on a set of problems for their finals one of which was very puzzling. Being intrigued I took the problem home to try to solve myself. While working on it for about 45 minutes Dad came home and asked me what I was working on. To my amazement He took the problem and came back 20 minutes later with the solution. About a month later I returned to the lab and ask the senior math students if they had solved the problem and as it turned out no one had solved it. I proceeded to show them the solution. They were amazed that a freshman student was able to solve it. I told them it was actually my Dad who came up with the solution and that he only went to school up to the eighth grade. Dad said he wasn’t book smart in. In the Navy one of his shipmates took him under his wing to help him get through the books and testing to become a diesel mechanic aboard the LST he served on in the Pacific during WWII. Dad was self taught and was a prolific reader. He read the National Geographic cover to cover as well as the reader’s digest and the newspapers. He kept daily journals and stressed the importance of getting a good education. He started out as a bench operator at Pratt and Whitney and worked his way up to General Foreman which required a college degree. Dad made up for it with his track record of success. Not bad for a guy who only went as far as 8th grade and joined the Navy at 17 years old.
Dad was my rock. Things were always better when he was around.

To the large family of Ernie Tyo: It was a shock to read of Ernie's passing. By chance, I saw his obituary this morning, and instantly recognized the name. In 1966, fresh out of high school, I worked briefly for Pratt & Whitney before entering the U.S. Air Force. I remember Mr. Tyo, as he was the 'big boss' tooling around in his motorized go-cart. Ernie was way up on the food chain, so to speak, the boss of my boss's boss. It's been more than 50 years since I saw Mr. Tyo, but do remember him as being friendly and talkative. God Bless You.
