My sincere condolences to Sal's family. Over the past 10 years at Tallwood, I was fortunate to be part of Sal's foursome many times. I will miss those 4 to 5 hours I got spend with Sal every weekend. I visited him at the nursing home in December, and will remember how happy he was to see his friends. He will surely be missed by all who knew him.

Anton and I enjoyed very many occasions of having dinner out with Uncle Sal and traveling together to picnics. I enjoyed tremendously hearing Sal and Anton discuss their construction career as partners for a goodly number of years; their stories were incredibly entertaining. Uncle Sal graced our table each Thanksgiving and we were delighted to have him. Birthday parties for Anton and our annual summer party were also attended by Sal, whose good humor, warmth and wit were also in evidence, always. I think of Uncle Sal's joy at being reunited with his beloved son, Ralph and that brings me great comfort, for I will always miss him.

Sal was my neighbor for 11 years. He was always making me laugh. He was good to have as a neighbor. When my bathroom needed to be gutted due to a leak, Sal would let himself into my condo and keep an eye on the workers (I was at work all day) to make sure they were doing the job right. The workers would tell me they would be working and suddenly Sal was there, watching them. But they didn’t mind because they were Italian, just like him, lol. I will always remember him golfing almost everyday, going to breakfast at Shady Glen and his Oldsmobile that he refused to let go of.

Uncle Sal was a part of my life ever since I was a kid. I remember countless sleepovers with my cousin Ralph, Sal's beloved Son. Ralph had so much promise for a rich and fulfilling life, but it was never meant to be. And Uncle Sal never got over Ralph's premature death. Later in life my Brothers (Bob, Tom and Jim) and I got closer to Sal. When we got together for a meal we would laugh and kid each other but inevitably the conversation would turn to Ralph and Sal would tear up. We all pray that Sal and Ralph are finally reunited in Heaven.
On a side note, and behalf of my Father, Frank, I want to thank Uncle Sal for filling in so often for my Father at the Broad Street Package Store so he could spend an evening having dinner with his family. It meant a lot to my Brothers and me!
Rest In Peace, Uncle Sal!

My condolences to Sal’s family. Sal had an extended family, the Tallwood family, that shares in you loss. Sal was an excellent golfer, having “shot his age” numerous times. Notwithstanding his accomplishments on the golf course, however, what made sal one of the most respected and beloved members at Tallwood were his human qualities - humility, kindness (to everyone), the joy he took in watching another member hit a good shot or have a good round, and his genuine concern for how you and your family were doing. Although he never sought to be the center of attention, there was always a special vibe when you walked into the 19th hole and Sal was there. That will be missed.

My most sincere condolences. There are many long-time Tallwood C.C. members like me to whom Sal was not just a fellow golfer, but kind of a hero. We all want to be like him: still out there in his nineties competing, griping about bad shots, laughing in the clubhouse over a cheeseburger. He’s someone we’ll never forget.
