Obituary of Carol McMahon

Carol Ann McMahon, 81, of Manchester, CT, passed away on April 20, 2020, Due to complications related to Covid-19.

Carol was born in New Britain on June 26, 1938. She graduated from Mount St. Joseph and continued on to receive a Bachelors from Connecticut Teachers College, now Central Connecticut State College.

Carol was married to Robert McMahon on August 13, 1960; they were looking forward to celebrating their 60th anniversary later this summer. 

Carol worked as a teacher before becoming a full-time loving mother and home maker. She enjoyed sewing and embroidery and all her grandchildren looked forward to wearing her latest designs. She was also actively involved in a variety of organizations including the PTA and Mother’s Circle. Carol hosted all of the family holidays and could always be found in the kitchen. She is well known for her apple pie and lasagna.  Carol particularly enjoyed pool parties with her grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her husband Robert, her sister Patricia Daly, brothers Charles (his wife Joyce) and James (his wife Carol).  Her daughter Maricarol Wooding (husband David), sons Robert McMahon Jr. and Michael (wife Maureen) grandchildren, Casey, Erin, Greg, Jessica, Sean and Mary, and other family and friends.

Carol is preceded in death by her brother Donald.

Due to the current circumstances a small private ceremony will be held at St. James Cemetery in Manchester, CT. 

The John F. Tierney Funeral Home, Manchester has care of the arrangements.
