Obituary of Freda M. Mitchell
Freda M. Mitchell 73, beloved wife to Chauncey T. Mitchell II of Willimantic passed peacefully on Thursday April 2, 2020. She was born December 17, 1946 in Hartford daughter of the late Frederick and Gladys (Mulligan) St. Andrew. She worked for the Mansfield School System and enjoyed motorcycle rides with Mitch. She was an avid knitter, and spent her free time knitting beautiful afghans
Freda is survived by her husband of 55 years Mitch: four children Denise Mitchell of Columbia, Chauncey Mitchell III and his wife Mary Mitchell of Manchester, Melissa Pijar and her husband John of Manchester and Matthew Mitchell of Skowhegan, ME; eight grandchildren Megan, Andrew, Hannah, Dylan, Jack, Lily, Alec and Ainsley; and a brother Mark St. Andrew. Along with both parents she was also predeceased by her siblings and a granddaughter Logan.
Due to the current healthcare circumstances and quarantine requirements, services will be held privately. Burial will take place in Rose Hill Memorial Park.
A celebration of Freda’s life will be scheduled at a later date when conditions allow at the Baptist Fellowship Church in Columbia.
