Obituary of Aida Reyes

Aida (Rivera) Reyes, 85, of Manchester, beloved wife to the late Marcial Reyes Sr., passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. 

Aida was born on January 11, 1935 in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico. She was the daughter of the late Vicenté and Esperanza Villaronga Rivera.  She was the sister of Norberta, Primitivo, Candida, Miguel, Vicenté, Nereida, and Jorge. 

We can undoubtedly say that Aida knew what is was to be a mother, a wife, a friend, a confidant, a disciplinarian, a teacher, a leader, a woman and a nurturer. Everyone that witnessed her service and loyalty to God in ministry knew that she accepted Christ the Savior into her life and never looked back for another source of salvation. Her ministry reached and touched some of the most underserved and marginalized groups within the earthly church organization. She now is present with God. God chose her amongst so many.  “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain”. Philippians 1:21

Aida is survived by her nine children, Zoraida Perez; Awilda Fraguada and her husband Esteban; Marcial Reyes Jr. and his wife Felicia; Aida L. Reyes; Blas G. Reyes; Victor M. Reyes; Iris Maysonet and her husband Benjamin Sr.; Roberto Reyes and his wife Kenia; and Nilsa Taylor and her husband Dwayne.

She is also survived by her 25 grandchildren, Adeline Fraguada and her husband Hector Sanchez; Daniel Perez and his wife Shannon; Stephanie Fraguada; Migdalia Gonsalves and her husband Charles; Esteban Fraguada Jr.; Naomi DeLeon and her husband Ariel; Angelica Reyes; Jennifer Fraguada and her husband Roy; Benjamin Maysonet Jr.; Vanessa Reyes; Emily Perez-Smith and her husband Joseph; Natalie Maysonet; Eleni Reyes; Jeremy Maysonet; Celeste Reyes; Samantha Reyes; Isaiah Dorsey; Daniella Dorsey; Rita Ortman and her husband Jonah; Wesley Reyes; Jaylene Dorsey; Aida L. Reyes; Esther Reyes; Laura Reyes; and Roberto Reyes.

Aida also had 22 great grandchildren: Francisco, Naelah, Hector, J’Shawn, J’Veous, Kalieal, Jesus, J’Zion, Damien, Xavier, J’Anah, Kaylin, Nixon, Rozalyn, Aliyana, Larissa, Gabriel, A.J., Gabriella, Isabella, Josiah, and Baby Boy Ortman. 

She was predeceased by her sisters Norberta and Candida and her brothers Miguel and Vicenté; son-in-law Roman Perez Jr. and her granddaughter Nilsa E. Reyes. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
