Frances Tebecio

Obituary of Frances B. Tebecio

Frances (Boccaccio) Tebecio, 87, wife of Francis (“Tab”) Tebecio for nearly 64 years, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on February 19, 2020. Frances was born on October 5, 1932 in Hartford, the daughter of the late Santo and Mariann (Liberto) Boccaccio. Frances has been an East Hartford resident for 57 years. Growing up with ten siblings, and eventually raising three children, Frances lived an abundant life, full of beautiful memories, love and laughter. She has visited special places near and far, but being anywhere with family was her greatest joy. To have known Frances, a.k.a. Fran, Chi-Chi, Grandma, or Gigi, you have been blessed and touched by her unique presence.

Frances worked for East Hartford High English Department, and eventually fulfilled her career as Assistant Treasurer with CBT and Fleet Bank. Once retired, she worked for Hallmark Cards, Inc. Always very giving of her time, she was a dedicated volunteer for Saint Christopher Church and School.

You could almost always find Frances in her cozy kitchen, making soup and Italian dishes to share, and baking an infinite amount of Italian cookies. Other hobbies include crocheting, cross-stitching, reading, word puzzles and most common, bargain shopping. Many holiday traditions will carry on because of her special touches. Frances loved cheering on grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their sports; she was an avid UConn Basketball and New York Yankees Fan.

Frances is survived by her husband, Francis Tebecio, her three children; Robert Tebecio of Oakdale, MaryEllen and Richard Botticello of Manchester, and Joseph Tebecio of East Hartford. She will always be loving Grandma to her grandchildren; Sarah and Sean Lafferty, Amy Tebecio, Kristen Tebecio, Jacqueline and Jason Smith, Robbie and Kiera Tebecio, Richard and Tamera Botticello, Patrick and Molly Tebecio, Jacob Tebecio, and Anthony and Phoebe Botticello; and forever Gigi to her adoring great-grandchildren; Dylan, Madelyne and Leroy; Isabella and Abigail; Taylor and Jordan; Isaiah and Shaye Lynne; Pierce, Lilliana, Gabriella; and Nora.
She leaves behind siblings Rose Cassarino, Richard Boccaccio, Joseph Boccaccio, John Boccaccio and Fr. Michael Boccaccio. Many nieces and nephews, and dear friends will miss Frances. She was predeceased by her siblings Pauline Brancati, Connie Salafia, Josephine Catalano, Santo Boccaccio and Salvatore Boccaccio; and dear friend Charlotte Judd.

Our family is grateful and would like to give warm thanks to the Nursing staff and Caregivers from The Hearth at Glastonbury, Right at Home, Athena Hospice and Salmon Brook Center.
