John W. Dumas posted a condolence

Uncle Ray worked at IBM Monday thru Friday. Some Saturdays, I would get to go with Dad (Billy Dumas) to "work on the trucks" (I was 8-10 years old) to deliver freight around town (Dumas Motor Transportation). We'd come back to Grandma's house (which was also the company office) around noon. Uncle Ray would always be there at the big Dining Room table, which would be covered with paperwork which had to be done for the previous week's freight and moving work (Trucking was regulated in those days). I'll never forget how Uncle Ray would always stop his work and talk to me, just like I was a grown up! One of the things I will never forget about Uncle Ray is how he always smiled and was cheerful to everyone. He and Aunt Helen were one of those couples (aside from being my Uncle and Aunt) who made you feel the World was in it's place. Uncle Ray; I will never forget your smile and positive attitude toward the World.
Nephew: Johnny and Linda Dumas

I am so very sad to hear of Rays passing! He certainly was one of the kindest men I ever met! Helen and Ray have been family friends for my entire life, and I know that Rays passing will be hard on Helen. Please hold your wonderful memories close and know that Ray will always be with you! Sending you love and hugs Helen at this time and keeping you in my prayers! ❤️Carol (Peila) and Tony Maida
