Obituary of Thomas J. Devine

Thomas J. Devine, 76, of Manchester, formerly of West Hartford, husband of Jean (Callahan) Devine, died at home on Wednesday April 27, 2005. Born and raised in the Frog Hollow section of Hartford, he was the son of the late Patrick J. Devine and Helen (O�Reilly) Devine. He was predeceased by his brother Francis. He graduated from Buckeley High in 1946, served in the US Army and graduated from Fairfield University in 1952. He spent 44 years as a resident of Bishop Rd. West Hartford, a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. He retired from Advo System, Inc. He moved to Manchester in 2000, where he has been a communicant of the Church of the Assumption. He was a member of The Legion of Mary. Besides his wife, he leaves his children and their spouses, Catherine and Thomas Champagney of Simsbury, Francis and Mary Grace Devine of Linden, NC, Thomas J. Devine Jr. of Atlantic City, NJ, David and Robyn Devine of Northfield, NJ, Eileen Devine of Simsbury, Angela and Paul Cotti of Blanford, MA, and Jean M. Devine of Bristol and fifteen grandchildren. There will be no calling hours. Friends are invited to attend a funeral mass on Friday April 29, 2005 at 12:30 pm at the Church of the Assumption 29 South Adams St. Manchester. Burial will follow in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
