Obituary of Steven J. Lausier

Steven J. Lausier, age 68, passed away peacefully at home on September 25th, 2019 with his wife by his side.  He was born on May 8th, 1951 in Hartford, CT and was raised in South Windsor, CT where he graduated from South Windsor High School before serving in the US Army.  Following his military service, he worked as a meat-cutter for Stop and Shop for 40 years.  After retiring, Steve moved to Tennessee to pursue his passions which included hunting, fishing, boating, and spending time with his two dogs Lucy and Sadie. In recent years, Steve moved to Florida to be closer to his family. Those who knew Steve best enjoyed his creative talents which included making his own beef jerky, smoking ribs, and building his own computers. Above all, Steve loved his family and was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Steve shared a special bond with his wife of 28 years, Deborah (Pavan) Lausier.  He is survived by daughter Amy Grover and her husband Jay of Clermont, FL, and is predeceased by his sons Patrick Lausier and Jason Stetz.  Steve is also survived by granddaughter Brandy Lausier who is currently serving in the US Navy and Hannah Grover of Clermont, FL.  Steve leaves his parents Patrick and Gertrude (Legassie) Lausier of South Windsor, CT, his brother Al and his wife Nancy of Tennessee, his sister Maxine Dame and husband Jerry of East Haddam, CT and Catherine Cormier of Mansfield, CT.  Steve shared a life-long friendship with Doug Murphy and had many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.

Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home on 219 West Center St. in Manchester on Tuesday, October 1st from 4:00 to 7:00pm.   A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 2nd at East Cemetery on Harrison St. in Manchester.
