Obituary of Alfred Lindbergh Brugnetti

Alfred Lindbergh Brugnetti, 90, of Manchester, CT, passed away on September 1, 2019, five weeks after the loss of his beloved wife, Anna. Alfred was born October 27, 1928 in Milton, MA son of the late Sperandio and Angela (Bombardieri) Brugnetti. He grew up in Bergamo, Italy, returning to the United States in 1946.  

Alfred was married on June 30, 1951 in East Hartford to Anna L DellaNave. He was a longtime cement mason and member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftsworkers. His handiwork can be found in colleges, hospitals, and malls throughout the northeast. He served in the U.S. Army 1951-1953. 

Alfred was a longtime communicant of Church of the Assumption. He enjoyed buying and repairing old cars, watching the Boston Red Sox and auto racing, helping his children with projects around their homes, feeding the birds, and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed traveling in the family’s RV throughout the northeast and to Florida, and spent many winters in West Palm Beach, FL.  

Alfred is predeceased by the love of his life, Anna, and his parents, Sperandio and Angela Brugnetti. He is survived by his devoted children Fred Brugnetti, JoAnn Brugnetti, Marie (Tom) Winters, Lisa (Dino) Pettinato, and Gary (Donna) Brugnetti; grandchildren Amanda, Jason, and Aidan whom he was very proud of; sisters Pauline and Gloria; and many nieces and nephews. 

Family and Friends may call on Sept 5th from 5-7pm at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center Street, Manchester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday Sept 6th at 11am at Church of the Assumption, 27 Adams St South, Manchester followed by burial with Military Honors in Hillstown Road Cemetery. 

The family would like to thank the medical staff of St. Francis Hospital ICU and Hospice units for their outstanding care and compassion.
