Donald J. Tencellent, 61, of Manchester the beloved husband of Helen (Madden) Tencellent died Saturday (April 2, 2005) at his home. He was born in Hartford the son of the late Arthur and Mary (McDermott) Tencellent. Don served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was a graduate of Holy Trinity High School in Hartford and St. Michael�s College, VT, Class of 1966. He was a retired employee of Aetna and was currently employed at Banknorth as a facility manager in Springfield, MA. Don was a Past President of TAARH, he was on the Board of Directors of MARCH, Inc. of Manchester for 25 years, a member of MARC Inc of Manchester, and a very active member of St. James Parish, Manchester he was a Past President of the Parish Council, he served as an Eucharistic Minister, Christian Involvement, he was a volunteer at the Fall Festival and a member of the Special Events Committee, he also volunteered with Christmas in April. His interests included his love for his grandchildren and family, reading, traveling, sports especially the Red Sox, and golf. Besides his wife, Helen, he is survived by three sons and a daughter in law, Donald J. and Suzanne Tencellent, Jr., of New Jersey, William M. Tencellent of Manchester and Michael A. Tencellent and Kara B. Hedglin of Vermont, his two grandchildren, Grace M. and Tyler J. Tencellent, his uncle William McDermott, his aunt Mary McDermott, two brothers in law and their wives, Dr. Richard and Maryanne Madden, William F. and Faye Madden, several cousins, nieces, nephews and an enormous circle of friends. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Mark Dailey and Marsha Bergman and the nurses at the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center at Hartford Hospital. Funeral service will be Wednesday (April 6, 2005) 9:15 a.m. from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center Street, Manchester with a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. at St. James Church Manchester. Burial is private. Family and friends may call at the funeral home for a memorial gathering on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9.
