Obituary of Avis S. Sweet

Avis S. Sweet, 83, of Manchester, the wife of the late Duane G. Sweet, Sr. died Thursday, May 9, 2019 at home.  Born in Burlington, VT, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Irene (O’Shea) Steady and had lived in Manchester for many years.  She was a communicant of St. Bridget Church and a member of their Mother’s Circle.  Avis was a retired realtor having served as past president of the Women’s Council of Realtors.  She also loved to travel.  She is survived by her children Michele (Sweet) Kenton and her husband Robert of Manchester, Duane G. Sweet, Jr. and his wife Nedia of St. Thomas, Lisa (Sweet) Vrobel and her husband John of Sinking Spring, PA; her grandchildren Amanda Trattner and her husband Joseph, Lindsey and Thomas Barkely Kenton III, Cordell Sweet and Duane G. Sweet III; her great-grandson Joseph Kenton Trattner; her brothers Ted Steady and his wife Dot, and Pat Steady and his wife Nancy; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Randall, Arland, Margie, Rose, Glen, Lorraine, June, Neil, Roland, Nancy and Lyle.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 14^th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, St. Bridget Church, 80 Main St. Manchester, followed by burial in Hillstown Road Cemetery.  Family and friends may call at the John F.
