Obituary of Vannesse Orr Rowe

Queen Vannesse Orr Rowe, 92, of Bolton, wife of James E. Rowe for the past 71 years passed away May 2, 2019, at home surrounded by her family. Born April 23, 1927, in Rockwood, TN to the late Dr.James and Queen (Womack) Orr. She led a full and fascinating life, first working as a Nuclear Chemist in Oak Ridge, TN; raising her family, and lastly working as a Card Cataloger for the Bentley Memorial Library in Bolton. She was a civil servant her entire life, serving as a volunteer for Girl Scouts, Meals-on-Wheels, the Mental Health Board for the State of CT as well as various committees for Bolton Congregational Church. Besides her husband, Vannesse is survived by her children James Rowe and his wife Cathy of San Jose, CA, John Rowe and his wife Denise of Chelsea, MI, and Jane Riggio and her husband Paul of Deep River, CT; her grandchildren Sarah, Katrina, Jimmy, Julianne, Brittany, Abby, Amanda and their spouses; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM May 13 at the Bolton Congregational Church.  In lieu of flowers, the family is encouraging donations to the Bolton Congregational Church,mealsonwheels@crct.org, https://sipa.columbia.edu/news/new-fellowship-honors-james-stephenson-mia-’07, or the Bentley Memorial library which she loved and spent over 30 years of her life.
