Obituary of Judith N. "Judi" Krochmalny

Judith “Judi” Novak Krochmalny, 73, the wife of Michael W. Krochmalny of East Hartford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by family.  Born in Omaha, Nebraska, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Marie (Cisar) Novak, and had lived in East Hartford for many years. 

In addition to her husband Michael, Judi was loved fiercely by her son Michael W. Krochmalny II of Glastonbury; daughter Annie Pitney and her husband Matt Pitney of Waltham, MA; sister Shirley Giard and her husband Charley Giard of Monson, MA; sister Marlene Cermak of Nebraska; the sunshine of her life, her granddaughter Isabel Mae Pitney; and multiple nieces and nephews. 

Referred to as a loving woman and a fighter to all who knew her, Judi had fought many battles against Myasthenia Gravis and the infections to which her medication left her vulnerable.  She will be remembered as a strong, vibrant person with strong opinions, as a forceful and protective mother, and as someone with a heart big enough to love all the cats she could find, birds at her many feeders and a great empathy for the less fortunate of the world.

The life of Judi will be celebrated on Saturday May 4th.  Calling hours will span from 1:00-4:00pm at the John F.
