Dorothy (Keating) Ardo, 92, of Vernon, devoted wife, loving mother and awesome grandmother, died on Sunday (March 13, 2005) at St. Mary�s Home in West Hartford. Born in Keene, NH, she had lived in Vernon for twenty-seven years. Before moving to Vernon, Dorothy was employed by the Cheshire County Savings Bank in Keene. She is the widow of Robert F. Applin and is the wife of twenty-three years to Joseph Ardo. She is also survived by her daughters, Barbara Saimond and her husband Richard of Moultonboro, NH, and Susan A. Hayes of Clinton, MA; her grandchildren, W. Scott Hayes, Matthew Saimond, Robert Todd Hayes, and Jamie Willett; her great-grandchildren, Alec, Michael, and Emilia Willett; and her step-daughter Barbara Schomburg. She was also predeceased by her brother Francis Keating. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:45 am at St. Bartholomew Church, Manchester. Burial will be at 1:30 pm at St. Joseph Cemetery, Keene, NH. Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester on Tuesday from 4-6 pm.
