Obituary of Cauford Shippy

Cauford Wellington Shippy, (Erval, Cuz, Shippy), 54 of Manchester, formerly of Montego Bay & Kingston, Jamaica, W.I, died Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Westside Nursing Home, Manchester.  Born in Blenheim, Hanover, Jamaica he was the son of Alfred A. Shippy and Joyce Jones. He was a graduate of Pembroke Hall High School and worked as a stage manager for Freddy McGregor, & Peter Ashbourne and the Ashes band (Jamaican musicians), Filenes, Paneloc Corporation, and Massconn Distributors in Connecticut. He enjoyed music, basketball and soccer. Cauford is survived by his children:  Jovon, Zhane, Jhaun, and Ashara Grand Children: Madison Shippy and Chandler Shippy, and Israel Gallimore Parents: Mother, Joyce Waugh; Step-mother, Lily May Shippy; Father, Alfred Shippy Grandfather, Henry Shippy Siblings: Sisters: Ann Marie Ferriera & Lorna Rosser; Brothers: Lloyd Edwards, Adrian Walker, Brian Walker & Davan Waugh; 5 nephews, 5 nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins & friends. He was predeceased by a Grandmother, Viola Hamilton and uncle Henry. Funeral Services will be Saturday April 6, 2019 at 8 am at the Greater Hartford Wesleyan Church, 7 Walsh Street, Bloomfield, with the Rev. Peter J.M. Isaac officiating, followed with interment in Buckland Cemetery, 1210 Tolland Turnpike, Manchester. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Cauford’s memory to the Greater Hartford Wesleyan Church Building Fund, 7 Walsh Street, Bloomfield, CT 06002. The family of the late Cauford Wellington Shippy expresses sincere appreciation to the management and staff of the Westside Nursing Home, the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, and all those persons who visited, made telephone calls and in one way or another supported the family during their time of bereavement.
