Obituary of Cecile Y. Messier

Cecile Yvonne (Ledoux) Messier, 86, of Manchester, the widow of Charles D. Messier passed away peacefully on Friday, February 1, 2019 at her home.  Born in Montpelier, VT, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Rose (Laroque) Ledoux.  She worked for Royal Typewriter, followed by assisting as a personal caretaker and was a homemaker for many years. She is survived by her children, Catherine Messier of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Christopher Messier of Bloomfield, and Cynthia Bean and her husband Brian of South Windsor; her grandchildren Connor, Austin and Cameron Bean, Hana Messier and Jason Messier Tucker.  She is also survived by one sister Rita Rollo of Townsend, MA. Cecile was predeceased by both parents, her husband Charles who passed in July of 2016 as well as seven siblings. Music was Cecile’s passion, she loved to play her keyboard and sing. She took singing lessons in her early 20’s, she enjoyed going for walks with friends and taking care of her family. She was loved by many of her friends and enjoyed spending time with them and talking with them on the phone. She was a wonderful, caring mother and grandmother who devoted herself to her family.

Family and friends may call on Saturday, February 9th at 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester followed with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 1 p.m. at the Church of the Assumption, 29 Adams St. South, Manchester.
