Patricia (Flynn) Adams, 63, of Manchester, the wife of the late Donald F. Adams died on Monday, January 31, 2005 after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She passed away peacefully in her sleep with her family at her side. Pat was born in Springfield, MA the daughter of the late John A. Flynn and Annette R. (Pawlosek) Flynn. She is survived by her daughter Lynn Adams-Bruno and her husband Eric Bruno and two sons, Shawn Adams and Christopher Adams. Pat was eagerly anticipating the birth of her first grandchild; Lynn is expecting, due on May 2. She is also survived by a sister, Joyce Duggan and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her dear aunt Mary Pawlosek. Pat graduated from Commerce High School in Springfield and received a bachelor�s degree in accounting from Central Connecticut State College. She retired from the State of Connecticut in June 2003 after 21 years of employment. During that time she worked for DAS, Department of Housing and DMHAS. Pat enjoyed traveling, swimming, reading, hiking and playing cards with her friends. She also enjoyed tutoring elementary school children and volunteering in the neo-natal care section at Hartford Hospital. The family would like to express their appreciation to the nursing staff on the 8th floor of St. Francis Hospital as well as the staff at the Cancer Center for their kindness, support and unending compassion during Pat�s struggle with cancer. The family would also like to thank her many close friends for all of their phone calls and cards; they always brightened her day. Services will be handled by the John F. Tierney Funeral Home of Manchester and will be private. Her children would like to invite family and friends to a celebration of life gathering.
