Obituary of Patricia A. Maloney

Patricia A. (Reardon) Maloney, age 91, of Palm Beach Shores, Florida and Newport, Rhode Island passed away peacefully on Monday January 28, 2019.

Pat was born in Hartford, Connecticut in 1927. She was a proud graduate of the “Mount” and Vassar College. She worked as an elementary school teacher in the Hartford School System and later founded the Nursery School Program at South United Methodist Church in Manchester where she was the lead teacher. Pat was active in the Boys and Girls Scouts and was a member of the Ladies of St. James of St. James Church.

Pat was an active member of the SeaSiders of Palm Beach Shores where she made many friendships. Through the years, she helped organize countless charitable events, became the official Historian and then President of the SeaSiders.

Pat loved to travel, was an active reader, and colorful storyteller. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 28 years, Paul Maloney.

She was a devoted mother of John Maloney of Boston, Massachusetts, David & Joan Maloney, and Elizabeth (Maloney) and Christopher Nolan of Manchester, Connecticut.

Pat was a proud grandmother to her five grandchildren Catherine, Paul, Annie, Anna and Jane. Her favorite moments included spending time and talking with them. They loved her and will miss her very much.

She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday February 4^th at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 12 William Street Newport, Rhode Island followed by burial in St. Columba Cemetery, 465 Brown’s Lane Middletown, RI.  Family and Friends may call on Sunday February 3^rd from 1-4 p.m. at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center Street Manchester, Connecticut.
