Obituary of Wanda M. Hickey

Wanda M. (Palcar) Hickey, 95, of Manchester, beloved wife of the late John D. Hickey died Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at her home.  Born in Hartford she was the daughter of the late John S. and Anna M. (Munich) Palcar.  She had retired as a secretary from the Manchester Board of Education.  She is survived by her children Robert S. Hickey and his wife Jean of Cicero, NY, Peter J. Hickey of Manchester, Marianna Wooster and her husband Alan of Manchester, Carol Pettine and her husband Philip of Northboro, MA, and Kathryn Frederick and her husband Neil of Killingworth; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Wanda is also survived by her sister Carolyn Voda of Maple Grove, MN.  Wanda’s family would like to offer a special thanks to Assisted Living Services, Inc. and her two angels, Yvonne and especially Grace.  Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 21st at 10:30 a.m. from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bridget Church 80 Main St. Manchester, followed by burial in St. Bridget Cemetery.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9:00-10:30.  Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Health Services, 8 Keynote Dr. Vernon, CT 06066.
