Obituary of Blanche H. Boland

Blanche Heffron Boland, 99, of North Falmouth, MA, formerly of Manchester, the wife of the late Robert Joseph Boland, Sr. died Thursday December 20, 2018 at her daughter’s home in North Falmouth, MA. Born in Manchester, she was the daughter of the late Harold V. Heffron and Blanche Maigrot Heffron and had lived in Manchester for most of her life. She was a 1937 graduate of Manchester High School, and returned later in life to earn a Teacher Assistant Certificate at Eastern Connecticut State University. She also loved her time working at Travelers Insurance Company and Michael’s Jewelers. “Sissy,” as she was known by her friends and family, will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit and warm smile. She is survived by her daughters Gail Osier and her husband Kenneth of Venice, FL and Lynn Berkley of North Falmouth, MA; her grandchildren Jason, Jessica, Kenneth III, James, Heather, Victoria and Michael; her 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her son Robert Joseph Boland Jr.; her siblings Bertha Heffron, Arthur Heffron, Arlene LaBrec and her grandson Aaron Boland Osier. Funeral service will be held on Saturday January 5th at 9:15 am from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bartholomew church 736 Middle Turnpike East, Manchester, followed by burial in St. James Cemetery.
