Obituary of Clifford A. Bartz

Clifford Bartz, 83, of Manchester, passed away Monday, December 17, 2018 at Manchester Hospital.  Cliff was born on August 2, 1935, son of the late Jacob O, and Regina (Gauthier) Bartz, and brother of the late Doris Bartz.  He was raised in Manchester, attended local schools and graduated from Howell Cheney Technical School.   Cliff served in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.  Both Clifford and Doris resided in their family home all their lives.  Clifford was well read, self-educated, and extremely knowledgeable in multiple subjects.   He was an experienced and creative carpenter who could build anything you could imagine.  He was an avid gardener and was well known for his wonderful tomatoes which he most generously shared with family and neighbors.  He was never too busy to lend a helping hand.  He spent years researching family genealogy and his memory was second to none. He enjoyed spending time with his cousins and their families.  He is survived by five cousins from, Manchester, Enfield and Massachusetts, a godchild, Jill Schack Vetrone, and his close friend and neighbor, Jack Carr.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday January 7 at 11:00 a.m. at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center Street Manchester followed by burial in St. James Cemetery.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home Monday morning before the service from 10-11 a.m. For online condolences please visit www.tierneyfuneralhome.com.
