Obituary of James H. Maneggia

James H Maneggia, 79, a long-time resident of Bolton, CT, beloved husband for 61 years to Joan (LaHouse) Maneggia, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, Sunday, November 25, 2018.

Jim was born January 1, 1939 in Hartford, son of the late Thomas A and Dorothy Maneggia. He was a proud employee of the US Postal Service for 35 years, serving in various supervisory positions. Once retired, Jim and Joan enjoyed time at their vacation homes in Florida and Vermont. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating, biking, and long walks with his wife. Jim was a big fan of the New York Yankees and Nascar. He was kind, compassionate, and hardworking who was devoted to his family and friends. Jim had a great sense of humor, who was known as an entertaining story teller and a man of his word.

Besides his wife Joan, he is survived by his daughter Donna, son Thomas and his wife Janice, his loving granddaughter Amber, her boyfriend Jonathan, grandsons Brian and Scott, his loving brother Andrew and wife Jeanne Maneggia their children, and a host of beloved extended family members and friends.

The family wishes to thank and are indebted to his angel cousins, Patty Maneggia and Sharon (Maneggia) Woodward for all their help and support throughout Jim’s illness, especially at the end of his journey. Thanks to Dr Reale, Laura, their staff, for all the care and support given to Jim, and the nurses in the ambulatory care unit at Manchester Hospital, especially Ann and Michelle.

Family and Friends may call on Friday, November 30^th at the John F Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W Center ST, Manchester, CT, from 4 to 7 pm. “A Celebration of Life” will be held 11 am, Saturday, December 1 at the John F Tierney Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to CMML Research at Smilow Medical at Yale University, New Haven CT.
