Obituary of Alma E. Tofani

Alma E. (Humphrey) Tofani, 87, of Manchester the beloved wife for the last 44 years to Jared "Jerry� A. Tofani died Thursday (January 20, 2005) at her home. Born in Waterbury, VT the daughter of the late Harley and Melissa (Thomas) Humphrey she lived in the Hartford Manchester area for the last 45 years. Alma was a former buyer for Stackpole Moore and Tryon in Hartford and a manager of The Clothes Horse Thrift Store in West Hartford for the Junior League of Hartford. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Society of Mayflower Descendents. For the last 25 years Alma and her husband Jerry traveled extensively. Besides her husband she is survived by her son Harley LaMountain of Manchester, her daughter and son in law Sandy and Lou Ouellette of Manchester, her two *Tofano* step daughters Dale and Joyce, her step daughter in law Evelyn Babins of Glastonbury eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son David A. LaMountain and a step son Mike Babins. Mom we will miss you and love you forever. Rest in peace. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday (January 24, 2005) 11:00 a.m. at the St. Bartholomew Church, 45 Ludlow Road Manchester. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery Manchester. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 6-8 p.m. and on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to American Lung Association 45 Ash St. East Hartford, CT 06108.
