Obituary of Mary Fitzpatrick Tucker

Mary Fitzpatrick Tucker, beloved mother and grandmother, died on November 8 at her home in Manchester, surrounded by her family. She was born in Hartford and had lived in Manchester since 1964. Mary received her undergraduate and Master’s degrees from the University of St. Joseph. She taught English for 25 years at South Windsor High School, retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Educator’s Society at Delta Kappa Gamma and the Retired Teachers of Manchester Association.

Mary was predeceased by her husband of 61 Years, Raymond F. Tucker, her parents, Thomas and Catherine (Droney) Fitzpatrick, and her sister, Katherine Lamb. She is survived by her sons, Brian, of Hopkinton, New Hampshire, and Robert, of North Hollywood, California; her daughter-in-law, Cindy White, and her grandchildren, Daniel, Jennifer, and Caroline, of New Hampshire; her niece, Corinne Lillibridge, of Arizona; her sister-in-law, Ellen Tucker, of Florida; and many other beloved relatives and friends. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Lisa Anderson for the outstanding, loving, and compassionate care she provided to Mary, and thanks the other nurses and aides who cared for her as well.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 14, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bridget Church, followed by burial at Hillstown Road Cemetery, Manchester. In accordance with Mary’s wishes, there are no calling hours. The John F. Tierney Funeral Home, in Manchester has care of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Office of Radio and Television, 15 Peach Orchard Road, Prospect, Connecticut 06712-1052, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
