Obituary of Rosemay W Roberts

Rosemay W. Roberts, 96, of Manchester, formerly of New Orleans, LA, the wife of the late Reginald M. Roberts died Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Manchester Manor.  Born in New Orleans, LA, she was the daughter of the late Russell Claude Wagner and Mary (Bacino) Wagner.  She made her career as a furniture salesperson, retiring from Sears after many years of service.  She will always be remembered for her affinity to butterflies, and reminded her customers to remember her by the butterfly pin she would always wear.  In 2005, at the age of 83, Rosemay relocated to Manchester, CT following Hurricane Katrina.  She was a communicant of St. James Church.  She is survived by her son Steven A. Roberts and his wife Mary of Manchester; her grandchildren Blake Roberts and his wife Jennifer Cannistra of Bethesda, MD, and Darcy Ronan and her husband Stephen Ronan of Fairfield, CT; her great-grandchildren Bryce, Carter, Edward, Charles and James; and her nephew Stanford Williams, Jr. of Gold River, CA.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Shirley Williams and Evelyn Hall.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester. The funeral procession will begin at 10:30 to St. James Church, 896 Main St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00.  A private burial will occur at Lake Lawn Cemetery in New Orleans, LA.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. James School Foundation, PO Box 254, Manchester, CT 06045-0254.  For online condolences please visit www.tierneyfuneralhome.com.
