Obituary of Marion Michaelsen

Marion Michaelsen, 93, of East Hartford, passed peacefully surrounded by her family at Manchester Manor on October 29, 2018.  Born in Worcester, MA May 9, 1925, daughter of the late Spencer and Laura King.  She worked in the health care profession retiring form Sterling Manor.  She was an avid bowling, tennis and Boston Red Sox Fan. 

She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She leaves her son Donald Baker and his wife Kathleen of East Hartford, two daughters Jody Gallagher of East Hartford and Wendy Bombard and husband Ron of Tolland.  Her greatest joy whom referred to her as “Gram-Gram” were her grandchildren Peter, Collin, Niki, Zachary, Amy, Devin, Jacob, Kristine, Sierra, Chad and Donald III.  She also leaves her beautiful great-grandchildren Donald IV, Jaylisse, Dylan, Holden, Lucas, Alexa, Ava, Evelyn, Marabel, Eleanor, Olivia, Addison, Edith, Emmit, Nora and Genevieve.  She leaves a brother Spencer King, of Sandwich, MA and a sister Dorothy Charest of East Hartford and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a son Ronald and sisters Eleanor and Grace. 

The family would like to offer a very special note of thanks for the comfort and care provided by the staff at Manchester Manor who treated her like family.
