Brad Chaffee

Obituary of Brad Chaffee

Brad S. Chaffee, 45, passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018, at his home in Manchester, Connecticut. Brad was born on May 21, 1973 in Middleboro, Massachusetts, to David E. Chaffee Jr. and the late Heather (Paquin) Chaffee. He graduated from Tourtellotte Memorial High School in North Grosvenordale, Connecticut, in 1991. He worked at the Staples distribution center in Manchester for more than 18 years, where he started as a cover driver and worked his way up to Supervisor.

Brad is survived by his sister, Lorna Richmond, and her husband, Jeff, his sister, Karen Chaffee, and his half-brother, Jordan Chaffee, his nephew, Gregory Richmond, and his niece, Amber Richmond. He is also survived by his grandparents, David Sr. and Anne (Dyer) Chaffee, along with aunts, uncles, numerous cousins, and many friends who were like family to him.

He enjoyed playing pool, attending concerts (particularly those of his favorite band, Type O Negative), taking in rescue dogs until they could find permanent homes (which often became his), and watching Minnesota Vikings games. Brad was always there to help others, and none of us will soon forget his infectious laugh.

A memorial service open to all will be held Saturday, October 13th, at 11:00 a.m. at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center Street, Manchester, CT. Family and friends are also welcome to calling hours at the funeral home on Friday, October 12th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. The burial will be private.
