Obituary of Sheila A Doughty

Sheila A. Doughty, 51, passed away on October 5, 2018 in her home surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with ALS. She was the wife of Brian D. Doughty Jr., whom she married on February 13, 1988. Sheila was born in Hartford, CT to parents Shirley and Charles Phelon and raised with her three siblings Melanie, Kim, and Patrick.

Sheila was, above all, a devoted wife and loving mother.  Always dedicated to bettering herself, she graduated from Goodwin College in 2011 and became a Registered Nurse. She loved spending time with her family, crocheting, backyard bonfires, and celebrating holidays, especially Christmas.

Sheila, or Mema, was the glue of the family. She is survived by her four children: Brian, Ashtyn, Erin-Lyn, and Kenneth; and ten grandchildren: Mackenzie, Anthony, Isabella, Ty-Shawn, Nathilee, Nealla, Trey-Lyn, Lillian, Kieran, and Taye-Lyn.

A memorial service for Sheila will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018, 12:00-5:00pm at John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester, CT. All are welcome to honor her memory.
