Obituary of Norma R. Palmer

Norma Rose Palmer of Manchester, CT, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 7, 2018, at the age of 78. Norma was born in Great Barrington, MA, attended Searles High School and worked for years as a successful Dutchmaid Sales Woman. Norma was a very kind and generous woman whose loyalty and love will be missed by many. She had many challenges to face in her life, but always pressed forward, never giving up. She leaves behind many fond memories, which we are all grateful. We take comfort that she is at peace now and that she was surrounded by those that loved her, to the end.

Norma had a large and loving family. She was predeceased by her parents, Rose (Guarnieni) and Charles Gardella; brother, Charles; daughter, Melissa Magadini; husband, William Palmer; step-daughter, Sharnon Young and step-grandchildren, Jeffery and Christopher Dizob.

Norma is survived by her daughters; Maia Magadini (Timothy O’Neil), Karla and husband, Dwight Hahn; brothers, Richard, Louis and wife Margie, 2 nieces and 2 nephews.

Norma was known as “Grammie” to her beloved Grandchildren and will be greatly missed by: Eric and his wife Amy, Danielle, Luke and his wife Rachel, Rosemary, Timothy, Tiffany and Emily.

Norma loved and took as her own her step-children. She was always there for them: William, Kenneth and his wife Deborah, Patricia and her husband Andrew, Roberta and her husband Matthew. 4 step-grandchildren, 5 step-great grandchildren and 2 step-granddaughters in-law.

A celebration of Norma’s life will be held on Thursday, October 11th, 2018 at 5pm at the John F Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W Center Street, Manchester, CT.
