Obituary of Sandra H. Billings

Sandra H. “Sandy” Billings, 71, of Manchester died on Friday, July 20^th, at Hartford Hospital after a long illness. She was the daughter of Nathan and Celia Grolnic of Dorchester, MA.  She is predeceased by her brother, David Grolnic. Sandy is survived by her extended family and friends - including her family in Mexico whom she loved to visit.  Sandy had been a long-time resident of Manchester and has touched many lives here.  She had a long career in finance and business management in the advertising, petroleum and construction industries.  She retired from the Manchester Sand and Gravel Co.   She loved animals and has been an active member of the Northeast Council of Aquarium Societies, FIDELCO, ASPCA and most recently, the German Shepherd Rescue Network.  She will be deeply missed by the many people that had the opportunity to know her.

A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, July 25^th at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester from 6:00 to 7:00 PM with a memorial service beginning at 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
