Marshall Aitken

Obituary of Marshall Douglas Aitken

Marshall Douglas Aitken, 83, of Manchester, Connecticut was born June 29th 1934 to his now late parents Walter and Esther (Osella) Aitken. Marshall passed away on June 28th. After high school he joined the United States Marine Corp to proudly serve his country. He carried the values of a Marine until his last day. Marshall was a family man in truest form. He was immensely proud of the family he created with his wife Shirley (Pender) of 61 years. Marshall is survived by two of his sons; Steven and Craig (Maryann) Aitken and his daughter Mary (Chauncey) Mitchell. Marshall was predeceased by his son Douglas in 1984 and two of his siblings. Marshall leaves behind five proud grandchildren; Stephanie, Jessica, Madison, Hannah and Jack along with two great grandchildren; Elijah and Isaiah. After serving his country, he had a successful career in Management at Pratt and Whitney. Marshall was lucky enough to retire young so he could make joyous memories traveling, cruising and spending winters in Florida with his beloved wife. As Frank Sinatra says “You only go around once, but if you play your cards right, once is enough”. Marshall, It’s ‘tini time.
