Obituary of Dorothy "Dot" Merrill
Dorothy “Dot” Merrill, 94, beloved wife for 73 years of Robert “Bob” Merrill peacefully passed from this life on Saturday June 2, 2018.
Born in Hartford, the daughter of Dominic and Hazel Ellard. Dorothy graduated from Weaver High School and worked at SNET for many years. She also worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford before starting her family.
A longtime resident of East Hartford, Dorothy was an active member of St. Christopher Parish and the Women’s Club. As a supporter of St. Christopher School, she even worked at the school while her children were growing up. Dorothy and Robert loved to travel when they had the chance.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers Richard and James Ellard and her sister Frances Bukowy. She is survived by her husband Bob, 3 children Patricia and Michael Fasciglione of East Hartford, Sandra Wieleba of Wethersfield and Robert and Lisa Merrill of Coventry. Also her grandchildren Heather and Kristen Fasciglione and James Wieleba as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
