Obituary of Doris (Vashon) Lausier

Doris Ruby (Vashon) Lausier, 87, of South Windsor, CT passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on June 8, 2018. Doris was born on October 7, 1930 in Waterville, Maine, daughter of the late Frank and Lillian (Gagnon) Vashon. Doris worked for 34 years as a Senior Cost Analyst for PWA. Doris is survived by her loving husband Patrick A. Lausier of sixty-one years, three siblings, sister Nancy and husband Raymond Lausier of Windsor Locks, CT, brother Gene Vashon of Fort Worth, TX and brother Douglas and wife Linda Vashon of Winslow, ME. Doris was a life member of the French Social Circle of East Hartford, CT, also a life member of the French-Canadian Genealogical Society in Tolland, CT.

She was predeceased by her brother Donald Vashon who was killed in action during the Korean War. Doris had six Godchildren, Donna, Karla, Karen, Tina, Cindy and Mark. She was predeceased by Cindy and Mark. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved her.

Doris’ family would like to extend their deepest thanks to the Home Aid and Hospice nurses who provided excellent comfort and care.

Family and Friends may give condolences to the family from 6:00 PM – 8:00PM on Thursday June 14 at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester, CT. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Margaret Mary Church, 80 Hayes Rd. South Windsor, CT on Friday June 15 at 10:00AM.
