Obituary of Flora P. Cesana

Flora P. Cesana, 91, of Manchester, CT, entered into Eternal Rest on Monday, May 7, 2018. She was born in Arnold, PA on September 17, 1926, the daughter of the late Vincent M. Kunicki and Antonina (Betty) Kunicki (Dybas). She was the loving wife to Angelo Cesana for 15 years until his death in 1991.

Flora grew up in New Kensington and Emsworth PA, later moving to Chicago, IL. She lived most of her life in Connecticut in the greater Hartford area. She was a long time employee of Hartford Hospital and had a love for Duckpin Bowling, cooking, reading mystery novels, and crossword puzzles. She had a passion for collecting frog figurines and her collection filled her home and garden.

Flora is survived by her 6 children: Ann Marie Phillips and her husband Jeff; Joseph Riccio and his wife Mary; Carol Fuos and her husband J.W. Smits; Thomas Riccio; Richard Riccio; Frank Riccio and his wife Lisa; her many grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many nephews and nieces. She was much beloved by them all and will be dearly missed.

Flora is also survived by her beloved sister Catherine (Kasia) and her husband Earl Bonovich. Flora and Catherine shared a special bond and when they were together their infectious laughter filled the house with joy.

She was predeceased by her siblings Helen Wentzel (1994), Rita Malensky (2009), Vincent Kunicki (1989).

The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude for the care and compassion Flora received from the staff at Salmon Brook Nursing Facility in Glastonbury CT.

Family and friends may call on Saturday morning May 19th from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center Street, Manchester, CT.  A private interment will follow for the family only. She will be laid to rest next to her dear husband and best friend Angelo.

Flora was a loving mother, wife, friend, and will be missed by us all.  Flora had a wonderful gift of always making each one her children feel like they were her favorite.
