Obituary of Barbara Callahan

Barbara (Tash) Callahan, 88, beloved wife of the late Reginald G. Callahan passed away on Sunday April 29, 2018. She was born October 21, 1929 in Barre, VT and graduated from Spaulding High School. She resided in Manchester, CT for 55 years. Barbara worked as a secretary for many years at St. Bridget’s church and also as Registrar of Voters for Manchester. She is survived by her sons Michael Callahan of Killingworth and Patrick and Joyce Callahan of Westerly, RI; her grandchildren Michael, Andrew and Emily; her brother Francis and Irene of Barre, VT; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Msgr. Joseph Tash and Nathan Tash. Barbara had a strong faith, loved the beach and was a devoted grandmother and friend to many. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Apple Rehab in Mystic, CT.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BRIDGET’S CHURCH 80 Main St. Manchester, CT on Thursday May 3 at 11:00 AM followed by burial at St. James Cemetery. The John F. Tierney Funeral Home has care of the arrangement. For online condolences, please visit www.tierneyfuneralhome.com
