Obituary of Donna (Babaliauskas) Brazdzionis

Donna Brazdzionis, née Danute Babaliauskas, 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, April 19, 2018. She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Dalia Chapman of Ellington, Ruth and Carl Lorentzen of Bolton, Peter and Kathy Brazdzionis of South Windsor, and Paul and Melanie Brazdzionis of Glastonbury; seven grandchildren:  Suzanne DeNunzio and her husband, David DeNunzio, Christina Lorentzen, Robert Zikus, James Brazdzionis, Peter Brazdzionis, Luke Brazdzionis, Kelly Brazdzionis, and four great-grandchildren:  Devon, Emily, Katelyn, and Nicole.  She is predeceased by her husband of more than 50 years, Peter Brazdzionis, Sr. 

Donna was born in Lithuania and came to Vernon-Rockville, CT with her husband, Peter, and their two daughters in 1949.

A longtime employee of Phoenix Mutual Insurance Co. in Hartford, Donna worked her way up from cleaning woman to a management position in the payroll department.

After retirement, much of her focus became taking care of her grandchildren, but  she also enjoyed hosting book clubs and crocheting, along with continuing to nurture her many longtime friendships.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at the Holy Trinity Church, 53 Capitol Ave., in Hartford, on Wednesday, April 25, at 10:00am, followed by a private burial.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK  73123 or (online here).
