Obituary of Helen (McLaughlin) Wilson

Helen (McLaughlin) Wilson, 84, the wife of the late John “Wimpy” E. Wilson, Sr. died on Monday, April 9, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Manchester the daughter of William and Irene (Campbell) McLaughlin she was a life-long resident of Manchester.  Helen retired after twenty years of service with the State of CT. She was always up for a good time especially when it was with family and hanging out with her great nieces and nephews. She loved following UCONN sports, following March Madness and an occasional VO and soda. Helen is survived by her sons James Wilson of Manchester, John “Bucky” Wilson, Jr. of Manchester and her daughter Lisa Riccio of East Hartford and her grandchildren, whom she adored greatly, Chelsea and Jamie Riccio of Boston, MA and Matthew and Adam Wilson of Vernon.  She is also survived by her fun and loving Rhode Island family Diane and Gene Greene, Stephen and Ann Duchesne, Mickey Famiglietti (and Bill) and Michael and Kim Duchesne; along with Jackie Wilson, Cheryl Richards, James and Sue Wilson, Donna and Bill McLaughlin; her sister-in-law Ann McLaughlin and her childhood friends Ellen Wilson and Joan Daley.  Many thanks to Dr. Anna Radwan, nurses and staff from the ER to hospice at St Francis Hospital for giving her the best care and attention during her recent stay.  A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday April 14, 2018 at 11:00AM at Saint Bartholomew Church 45 Ludlow Rd. Manchester, CT. Burial will follow at Saint James Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester on Friday April 13, 2018 from 4-7PM.
