Eileen Lennon Toland, 85, a long-time resident of Manchester, CT passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in Bethel, CT on Tuesday, February 12, 2013. Eileen, originally from County Galway in Ireland is survived by her beloved husband Peter P. Toland to whom she was married 56 years. She is also survived by her four children: Sean (Eliette Matos) Toland and their children: Sean-Hector, Eamon-Antonio and Diana-Eileen of Bethel, CT; Brian (and Andrea) Toland and their children: Bryna and Peter of Huntsville, AL; Paul (and Linda) Toland and their children: Nicole, Wesley and Erika of Bowie, MD; and Mary Toland Koehler (and her fiancé Michael Shaw) and her children: Nathanael, Kristen and Stephen Koehler of Tampa, FL; as well as her cherished cousin Ellen Buegling, and nieces: Eileen Lennon Melley; Laurah Lennon; Sheila Lennon; Patricia Lennon and a nephew Thomas Lennon, here in the U.S.; and many nieces and nephews still in Ireland. Eileen was a deeply caring wife and mother who always put the needs of her family ahead of her own. She was a wonderful homemaker and devoted parishioner at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, Manchester. When Eileen first came to the U.S. she was employed as a Receptionist at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT; and then during her career had been a Receptionist for over a decade with Shearson, Lehman Brothers in downtown Hartford. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center Street, Manchester, CT; followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, 80 Main Street, Manchester at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow the Mass at St. Bridget's Cemetery, 195 Oakland Street, Manchester, CT.
